Danish authorities report that unauthorized persons accessed a very large amount of personal data in the Central Person Register (CPR), including names, addresses, CPR numbers and other registered information.

This can be misused for fraud. If you have MitID, do this:

• Be careful with unexpected calls, texts and emails, even if they already know your details.
• Do not click unexpected links. Open the organisation’s official website yourself.
• Never share MitID, one-time codes, passwords or card details.
• Create a credit warning (kreditadvarsel) on Borger.dk: Kreditadvarsel → Selvbetjening → Start → log in with MitID → Opret. This makes it harder for someone to take a loan in your name.
