On-call substitutes wanted for the night shift at Engbo Nyborg

Are you calm, responsible, and good at keeping track of things—even when the rest of the house is asleep?

We’re looking for on-call substitutes for our night team at Engbo Nyborg. We’re looking for someone who wants to make a difference for adults with significant and permanent disabilities and who thrives on the special responsibility that comes with working at night.

When you arrive, the evening shift may be wrapping up their day. You’ll receive a handoff about the residents—who had a good day, who was restless, and is there anything in particular you should be aware of during the night? Gradually, calm settles over the homes. For some residents, the night means uninterrupted sleep. Others wake up several times and may need help with personal care, a glass of water, support to find peace again, or simply the reassurance of knowing that a staff member is nearby. 

A resident may suddenly feel unwell. Another may become restless or need extra support. In these situations, it’s important that you remain calm, assess the situation, and act in accordance with the agreements and care plans established for each individual resident. The night shift worker is also the one who notices the small changes. Perhaps a resident is sleeping differently than usual, seems unwell, or is behaving differently. These observations can be important for the colleagues who arrive in the morning.

Before your shift ends, you document relevant observations and provide a thorough handoff to the day shift. 

It may be nighttime—but the work is important around the clock.

The night team works across Engbo, so you should be eager to get to know different residents and facilities.

Your educational background isn’t the most important thing to us.

For example, you might be a teacher, a social and health care assistant, an educational assistant, a care aide, or have other relevant experience.
